Agriculture in Thandlam (India)

TAAC (Thandlam Agriculture Ayurveda Cow Protection):

This project in the Thandlam community in the south of India began in 2008 and will finish in 2010 and involves:

1.The cultivation of nuts, turnip and watermelon.
2.The cultivation and the sale of Ayurvedic medicinal plants.
3.The protection of cows and the sale of their milk.

ISRAEL

EMERGENCY GAZA: In January 2009, in response to the bombardment of Gaza and in collaboration with the Red Cross, funds were sent to purchase 999 sleeping bags and 1200 hygiene kits.

BANGLADESH

CYCLONE SIDR: In 2008 World in Harmony collaborated with the Grameen Foundation, funding the reconstruction of 500 homes which were destroyed by the cyclone in 2007.

CAMBODIA

APOSTOLIC PREFECTURE OF BATTAMBANG: In 2008, World in Harmony donated 1.600€ to help families to be more self-reliant. The organisation provides: Wheelchairs, education scholarships, bicycles, support in the construction of houses and micro credits.

VIETNAM

BIOGAS SISTEMAS: In 2008, funds were sent for the construction of 2 biogas systems for the treatment of waste and the production of organic gas to the Ba Vi Women’s Cooperative

AFGHANISTAN

ASHRAM INTERNATIONAL: In 2009 a $10,000 donation was made to support 10 girls in Kabul, Afghanistan to set up a carpet weaving business together. The project will provide training in business development, management, marketing and sales, as well as access to looms and a workshop to weave the carpets.
